Vegan Chocolate Cake Recipe
A Delicious Vegan chocolate cake recipe with creamy vegan frosting.
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon distilled white or apple cider vinegar
2 cups organic powdered sugar
1/4 cup dairy free soy margarine, at room temperature
1/4 cup almond milk
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Grease and flour a 8 inch round cake pan.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt with a fork.
Add the water, vanilla, oil, and vinegar, and mix together until fully combined.
Pour into prepared baking dish.
Place in oven and bake for about 40 minutes, or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool completely on a wire rack.
In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the powdered sugar with the soy margarine until mixture is thick but well combined.
Add the almond milk, cocoa powder and vanilla, and continue to mix until smooth.
Smooth frosting over cooled cake, top with chocolate shavings or decorations of choice.
